how do I know if i have dry skin

It sounds like your skin is on the dry side.  Do not worry as there are so many amazing skincare products and routines to help you fix your dry skin.  Recommended products are as listed below so you can browse through my dry skincare product suggestions.

Here is my recommended Dry Skin Regimen for morning and night:

Morning

Step 1 – Hydrating Cleanser – Use a cream based hydrating cleanser if you have dry skin to get extra hydration and prevent stripping skin of more oil. You can also use a cleansing foam as long as the product focuses on “hydration”.

The best hydrating cleansers for dry skin are:

  • Paula’s Choice Hydrating Cleanser with Green Tea
  • Innisfree Hydrating Cleansing Foam
  • CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser

Step 2 – Moisturize – Using a moisturizer that is specifically made for dry skin doesn’t necessarily mean you need something thick. If you have dry skin you’ll want to check out a moisturizer that has Hyaluronic Acid because it will release moisture throughout the day.

The best hydrating moisturizers for dry skin are:

  • Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Replenishing Moisturizer
  • Skinfix Barrier+ Triple Lipid Peptide
  • FirstAid Beauty – Ultra Repair Cream
  • Tatcha – The Dewy Skin Cream

Step 3 – Use Sunscreen SPF30 every day – There are a lot of great sunscreens formulated for dry skin. You’ll want a hydrating and glowy sunscreen to get you through the day.

The best sunscreens for dry skin are:

  • La Roche Posay Anthelios Fluid SPF50+ Sunscreen
  • SuperGoop! Glowscreen

Night

A night time skin care routine for dry skin is pretty simple as you don’t want to irritate your skin since it is likely sensitive.

Step 1 – Cleanse – Use one of the hydrating cleansers mentioned above for another cleanse of the skin.

Step 2 – Tone – If you have dry skin you’ll still want to use a toner because this helps to balance the skin and maintain PH levels.

Here are the best toners to use for dry skin:

  • Pixi Glow Tonic – This has vitamin E so it will help protect your skin’s moisture barrier
  • Fresh – Rose Deep Hydration Toner

Step 3 – Moisturize with a night cream – Again, you’ll want to use a moisturizer that is hydrating but there are plenty of night creams that are even more rich and packed with peptides.

Here are the best night moisturizers for dry skin:

  • Youth to the People – Superfood Air-Whip Moisturizer
  • Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Replenishing Moisturizer
  • Charlotte Tilbury – Magic Night Cream

Step 4 (Optional – mask 2 – 3x a week) – A hydrating mask that you can sleep with on will provide your skin with moisture and you’ll wake up looking refreshed.

Here are the best overnight sleeping masks for dry skin:

  • Laneige – Water Sleeping Mask
  • Glow Recipe – Watermelon Overnight Mask
  • Fresh – Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask (a personal favourite)

Hopefully all of these recommendations for dry skin product recommendations have you covered!
