There are so many blushes on the market right now it can be overwhelming to decide which blush will be best for your skin tone. There are many ways to answer the question about “which blush is best for my skin tone” but this article will help you find your perfect blush!

Just select your skin tone from the list below and you’ll be taken directly to the section that you want to learn about the blushes that will work for you:

Best Blush for Olive Skin

Olive skin tones have undertones of yellow and green. For that reason, the best blush shades that work best for olive skin are warm bronze and peach tones. You can also use different undertones to bring out either yellow or green. For example, if you wish to use a cool toned blush you will compliment the green undertone so a muted mauve will be perfect for olive complexions.

So really, Olive skin tones can pull off cool toned mauves as well as bronzy shades. Here are examples of the best blush shades made for olive skin tones:

Best Blush for Pale and Fair Skin

If you have pale and fair skin you’ll want to choose a light blush in the light peach or pink family. In the warmer months you’ll want to go toward more light coral and peach shades. In the winter months, you’ll do well with a cool toned pink. You can find all of these shades in cream or powder blush formats, whatever you prefer.

I have fair skin and have purchased the Saie Dew Liquid Blush in Peachy and the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Bliss. Both are very unique shades and the Saie Dew Liquid Blush is more dewy than the Rare Beauty Liquid Blush which is more matte in the shade Bliss.

Best Blush for Medium Skin

Similar to olive skin tones, medium skin tones can pull off a deeper peach or almost terracotta shade. Medium skin can also pull off deeper rose shades for a cooler look. Additionally, you may want to opt for more of a deeper tone on the matte side for ultimate effect.

Medium skin tones can also play with darker orangey peach tones in the summer so don’t be afraid to go bold!

Best Blush for Dark Skin

Colours such as purple, plum, berry and orange and coppery shades look amazing on dark skin. Don’t shy away from burgundy toned blushes as well. There are so many different shades to choose from because you can go with a beautiful rich shade and be bold or go for more of an everyday look.

If you have dark skin tones, you’ll also want to opt for a blush that is more pigmented so you can build up the colour as you see fit and that it lasts longer.
