I bought the Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter from Sephora. I love Rare Beauty products and always find them high quality. This is an honest review of the Silky Touch Highlighter as I have some mixed thoughts that I wanted to share with my audience.

Where to Buy the Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter
I bought the Rare Beauty Silky Touch Highlighter in the shade Mesmerize from Sephora. There 4 shades in Total:
- Mesmerize – Rose Bronze
- Flaunt – True Gold
- Exhilarate – Champagne Gold
- Enlighten – Cool Champagne
All of these are so beautiful it was hard to choose just one of the Silky Touch Highlighters but ultimate I love the pink tones so I went with Mesmerize.
You can also purchase these from RareBeauty.com.
Those are the only two places you can buy Rare Beauty products from. If you’re from Canada you can still order from RareBeauty.com but if you collect Sephora Beauty Insider Points you are better off shopping at Sephora.
The Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter is going to give you a glow from within look according to Selena Gomez. There is definitely a sheen and bright glow to this highlighter. It will give you a dewy glow almost like a glass skin appearance.
The highlighter creates a soft glow and luminous look throughout the skin. I like to apply it to the cheek bones and just below my brow bone where the light hits my face.

Is The Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter Good?
You may be wondering if the Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter is good? I will give you the honest answer and say it is just ok.
Here is my review of the Silky Touch Highlighters:
- Not chalky or sparkly – the highlighter is finely milled so that you don’t have any fall out. There’s no need to tap your brush.
- Very pretty and dewy – It will give you a very dewy finish without being sticky.
- Weightless – Feels like nothing on the skin so won’t rub off easily
- Oily Skin Friendly – This would be ok for people with any skin type as long as you don’t have acne scarring
- Not good for Textured Skin – It will show your texture if you have acne
Overall, I feel like this is a good highlighter and there aren’t many products like this on the market. However, if you have a highlighter than you like or already own one of the Rare Beauty Liquid Luminizer Highlighters you could skip this.
Rare Beauty Silky Touch Highlighter vs. Luminizer Highlighter
You may be wondering what the difference is between the new Rare Beauty Silky Touch Highlighter vs. the Luminizer Highlighter.
The Silky Touch Highlighters come in the same shades as the Luminizers (but there are only 4 available). I prefer the luminizers because they are slightly more natural looking and don’t give off the same attention to skin texture.
I find the Silky Touch Highlighters emphasize my texture a little too much and makes me look overall very shiny. The Luminizers are also glowy but are a bit more subtle.
I also find that the Silky Touch Highlighters go on very heavy so you need to use a light hand. The Luminizers melt into the skin better and I don’t have to be afraid to build up the colours and shades.
You can also mix the Rare Beauty Luminizers in with the Soft Pinch Liquid Blushes for a very glowy and dewy blush look. You cannot do this with the Silky Touch Highlighters.
Overall, if you are a fan of powder then you should purchase the new Silky Touch Highlighters but if you prefer cream and liquid products then choose the Luminizers.
Is the Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter Worth It?
Overall, I will leave you with this: if you are a fan of highlighters it’s a great one to add to your collection. If you already have so many and have textured skin you won’t want to buy this.
Make sure you don’t have something else like these in your collection!!!
The results are very pretty but it is easy to get swept up buying more than you need.
