I recently picked up some blushes from Patrick TA that just launched at Sephora and wanted to tell you guys all about it.
I first heard about these Patrick TA blushes from a Canadian Beauty Blogger named Jamie Paige. She was raving about how natural they looked on her skin tone. I then realized that there was a whole entire line of makeup from Patrick TA called Monochrome Moments that is an easy to wear line of nude makeup.
All of the tones can be worn interchangeably together for the perfect nude monochrome look. Additionally, the packaging on this makeup especially the blushes are so sleek and are definitely luxurious.
Who is Patrick TA?
According to Refinery29, Patrick TA is a makeup artist to celebrities such as: Gigi Hadad, Olivia Munn and Shay Mitchell. He is from Vietnam and and got inspired by his college roomate who was very into makeup. He opened a tanning and nail salon that didn’t quite go his way in 2018 and then he had to file for bankruptcy.
He got a fresh start in L.A. where he started doing makeup and quickly worked his way up to success. Now he’s had the courage to start his own makeup line that consists of easy to wear products for most skin types.
The thing about blushes is that I tend to get really pinky summery colours which don’t always work with my winter clothes. I wanted something that was more on the peachy side that looked natural enough to skip a bronzer if I wanted to.
Patrick TA Monochrome Moment Velvet Blush Review
I picked up the Monochrome Moment Velvet Blush in “She’s Sincere” which is described as a soft peach tone. There are 4 blushes in the entire collection and I will show you all of the swatches here:
She’s Sincere is the blush I picked up as the perfect sculpting blush in between a bronzer and a peach toned blush. It is perfect for the winter season and compliments all of my warm toned looks for fall.
She’s Passionate is a brighter dusty rose which looks perfect on the apples of the cheeks. It’ll brighten up any look you’re going for but isn’t too bright of a flamingo pink. I opted not to go for this one because I have a lot of pink blushes but this one is definitely next on my list.
She’s Adorable is again a peach blush but is probably best suited for darker skin tones. This blush does the same thing as a bronzer and still gives you a warm peach tone and glow.
She’s Seductive is also great for darker skin tones. It’s perfect for a sultry look day or night. I love how these blushes don’t get too much on the powdery side or have such a pink look because I am really not feeling that look anymore.
As you can see from the swatches in his new makeup line, everything is very wearable and hence monochrome. The idea is to add some life to the nude colours and tones we see in the world and he does that in a way where all skin tones can take part in his collection all available at Sephora and Sephora Canada.
Patrick TA Monochrome Moment Silky Lip Creme
The Monochrome Moment Silky Lip Creme is Patrick TA’s take on the nude gloss. There are 4 colours in all similar to the blushes and the shades tend to match the similar tones to the blushes – hence the term: monochrome.
Here are the Silky Lip Creme swatches from Patrick TA:
She’s Unapologetic is the lightest pink nude in the Patrick TA collection. It works really well on its own although very sheer. But also works really well as a topper if you have a nude lipstick that you want to add more depth to.
She’s Independant is a deeper nude shade but almost makes this rich cocoa shade so warm and interesting. I think this shade would work really well on olive skin tones.
She’s Secure is a darker version of She’s Independent and I also think that this would look good over a darker nude shade of lipstick or on its own for darker skin tones. I believe this one is currently sold out at Sephora so it is a really popular shade.
She’s Confident is the darkest version of the Monochrome Moment Silky Lip Creme. It is a great choice for darker skin tones or if you are mostly looking for a darker brown shade.
Patrick TA Monochrome Moment Collection
There are many other items in the collection including lip liners, brushes and body highlighters.
The precision lip crayon is the lip liner and it also comes in 4 shade ranges and is a matte finish. The look with the matte lip liner and the silky gloss seems to be all the rage right now which I think that is the look Patrick TA was going for.
The Monochrome Brush seen below is the brush that has been created alongside the velvet blushes so that it really is the only brush you need to apply the velvet blushes.
The Major Glow Highlighting Mist is one of the best highlighters out on the market right now. It is a highlighter that you spray and since the particles are so fine, it gives you an air brushed look.
The reviews on the major Glow Highlighting Mist are mixed. This is because people are saying that if you have very textured skin, the mist will settle into the pores and give you an uneven look. Additionally, because it is a spray, it is hard to get the exact high points on the face where a highlighter should go.
If you’re looking for a dewy shimmer probably best to use this product for a night out when you really want to shine!
