Arriba! I’m sure everyone is ready for spring and what better way to celebrate with the new OPI Mexico Collection Spring 2020?
I have been a fan of OPI nail polish for as long as I can remember. Canadians love OPI nail polish because of the colours and lasting quality.
I’ll show you all of the swatches of the Mexico Spring Collection and let you know my thoughts on each colour.
You’ll really love how the Mexico Collection brings together brights, vivid and pastel colours! If you are a fan of bright nail polish you will love this collection!
You can view all of the Mexico City OPI Colours on the OPI Nail Polish Canada website here.
You can also see how the nail polish colours will look on your hands by going to the OPI “Try it on Studio” here. You’ll get a close up of all of the colours mentioned in this blog post so you can really see how the shades work.
I’ve also created another blog post talking about the best OPI classic shades which you can read here.
Mexico City OPI Collection Colours
As mentioned above the OPI Collection Colours are bright and vivid. There is something for everyone in this collection. There is also a lot of dimension in the colour with tons of glitters and texture in these polishes. If you are looking for a fun nail polish this is your collection!
Coral-ing Your Inner Spirit Animal
Coral-ing Your Spirit Animal is a very light coral colour. If you are into peach nail polish this would be the perfect colour for you. This is also more of a neutral in the collection as the other colours are very bold.
Here is the swatch of “Coral-ing Your Spirit Animal”:
Hue is the Artist?
Give me any lavender pastel nail polish and I’m sold. Hue is the Artist? Is a beautiful wearable pale shade of purple. I always look for such easy to wear shades that are light in the spring time. This is another one of my favourite shades in the collection.
Telanovela Me About It
Telanovela Me About It is this beautiful fuchsia shade that has flecks of glitter in it. It’s the perfect soap opera nail polish but also one of my favourite colours to wear. This deeper shade of pink is really bold but I think the sprakles add dimension and wearability.
Suzi’s Slinging Mezcal
Suzi’s Slingin’ Mezcal is a perfect shade of gold without being too shiny. This shade doesn’t scream mezcal to me as the drink is usually more brown but I like the feeling this yellow gold hue shines through. It is a wearable gold shade that isn’t too glittery to allow you to wear this from day to night.
My Chihuahua Doesn’t Bite Anymore
If you’re looking for a deeper shade of orange this spring but don’t want to commit to a lighter coral, My Chihuahua Doesn’t Bite Anymore is the perfect bold orange huge without being too bright. The colour ranges a bit more neutral than bright which is why I love it so much! This is another one of my top picks from this OPI Mexico City Collection.
Mural Mural on the Wall
To say I am in love with this colour is an understatement. Mural Mural on the Wall is a really fun bright coral colour with flecks of bigger gold confetti within it. OPI doesn’t really do crazy glitters like this so I’m very excited to try this shade!
Mi Casa Es Blue Casa
The Mi Casa Es Blue Casa is probably one of my least faves. I think the blue is a bit off and very wintery looking. It may just be me but I don’t love deep blue nail polish. I also don’t think this fits very well into the Mexico Spring Collection for 2020. Let me know what you think! According to the OPI Canada Website people seem to really like this colour!
Mexico City Move-Mint
Ah this colour is a winner in my mind! I love a light pastel mint and this one isn’t too green, it is more on the light blue side. I can see myself wearing this in the warmer summer months such as June and July. I absolutely love this colour and it makes me think of warm summer nights!
Mariachi Makes My Day
This is another colour I am not loving out of the Mexico City Collection. I find it to be too dark and the name suggests that it is a day colour but the OPI website says that it is a perfect night time colour. I can see this working well for the night but cannot agree on the day time especially for spring. Either way, I know that sometimes people prefer to wear dark nail polish all year around so if that’s you then this would be a great option from the collection.
Don’t Tell A Sol
THIS COLOUR is one of the best yellow nail polish shades for Spring 2020. You all know that yellow is going to be the colour of Spring and Summer. I have been hesitant to wear yellow over the years but this is the perfect shade for me. I love how it’s a really warm hue but is very fashion forward. I will definitely be checking out this colour and wearing it all summer long – especially on the toes for a bright pedicure!
Viva OPI!
Viva OPI! is a brick red and I do see this fitting nicely into the collection. I also think that it’s a great transitional shade from winter to spring. If you are into reds this winter this is a brick red/orange hue that can take you through to the warmer months!
Verde Nice to Meet You
Verde Nice to Meet You is a muted soft teal colour. I’ve seen this colour before but I like that it is a bit on the matte and neutral side rather than a bright green/blue. This is a great spring time colour too especially if you’re looking for a nail polish for St. Patrick’s Day that is also wearable!
There you have the entire OPI Mexico City Nail Polish Collection. It is available in Canada where OPI nail polish is sold. The Mexico City Collection also comes in Gel (Shellac) and the Infinite Shine 2 line as well.
Let me know what your favourite OPI Mexico City Nail Polish colour is from the collection and if you are an OPI fan in Canada!
