I splurged on the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick because I wanted to try a new foundation stick that was for clean beauty. Little did I know the journey I was about to discover with this almost life changing product.

I purchased the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick from Sephora. The reviews on the Sephora were all great and considering the return policy I felt comfortable trying it out.

This product is $88 CAD so for a foundation stick it’s pretty pricey. See below for some dupes that I found of the Vital Skin Foundation Stick but as you keep reading this review, you’ll see that the dupes don’t measure up to the real thing.

Keep reading to find out my honest review of the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick. There are some dupes of this product but after reading my honest review you may be convinced that you do not need the dupes.

This is a 100% vegan plant based product and has unique properties to nourish and hydrate the skin while providing medium buildable coverage.

I waited about a week after wearing the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick because I wanted to ensure I had enough time to give you my honest review.

My PORES INSTANTLY VANISHED with the application of this foundation stick.

This is the creamiest, easiest to blend most beautiful stick foundation I have tried in a long time. The packaging is so unique because it is a metal tube that you twist up. The lid of this tube is magnetic so the product stays really clean. How many stick foundations do you know that end up looking so dirty and cakey? I swear this is an expensive product but it exudes luxury.

I really do not regret purchasing the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick as I thought I would. The price tag is really hefty at $88 CAD but thinking about the quality as you’ll see in the honest review below, it is money well spent.

Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick Shade Range

I purchased the shade: 0.5 – fair, neutral undertone as I am usually two shades in from any given foundation. I do have pink undertones but figured that it would be best to go with neutral. There are 21 shades total and they go in order from lightest to darkest. Since I have light to fair skin I took a chance at this shade hoping it would be the right one.

The shade 0.5 is a little light for me but I decided to keep it because I love the fact that it enables me to warm up my face using bronzer. Here is the swatch on my inner arm of course it doesn’t match my face. You can see the creamy consistency of this product that I got all of this pigment in one swipe.

Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick Application

I use the Westman Atelier Vital Stick Foundation in two steps:

  1. Dot the product all over my face in wide sparse areas. Two dots on the forehead, one on each cheek and two on the chin.
  2. Use a dry brush to blend all of the product out and evenly.

I didn’t know at first it was a foundation and concealer in one but quickly realized when I found that I didn’t even really need a concealer! I love using concealers but as a mom if there’s a step I can skip then I’m so grateful for it.

The Westman Atelier Foundation Stick blends out evenly and LIKE A DREAM.

I honestly didn’t think it would be this creamy and easy to blend out. The coverage is perfect and it gives me a really nice dewy glow. I never spend this much on foundation but I just couldn’t bring myself to bring this back.

The Westman Atelier Foundation Stick also hid all of my pores. I wasn’t expecting it to look as good as it did but after a 3 hour wear test I realized that the foundation had worn even better and melted together.

I will warn that if you have oily skin you may not like this product because it does give off a dewy glow. At the end of the day I noticed a bit more shine on my face but I tend to like the dewy glowy look.

On the other hand, if you have really dry skin that flakes you also may not love this foundation stick because at first, the formula may stick to the skin in a way that emphasizes the dryness.

The best way to set the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick is to use a powder such as the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder in places you are prone to oiliness such as the T-zone. You only need to spot or pin point the powder so you keep the healthy glow that the Vital Skin Foundation Stick will deliver.

Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick Ingredients

The reason why the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick is a bit on the oilier side is that it has coconut oil in it. Westman Atelier is considered “green” at Sephora so it is made with natural ingredients. It also includes Squalane that is a humectant which means it seals in the moisture in your skin. The Berrflux Vita is has anti-aging properties and is also very hydrating.

The ingredients include:

– Vegetable-Derived Squalane: Helps prevent moisture loss.
– Phytosphingosine: Skin-soothing and calming properties.
– Berryflux Vita: Hydration-boosting and youth-preserving properties.

The ingredients are all vegan and plant based and allows the product to melt into the skin while providing hydration.

If you’re looking for something more matte try the Hourglass Foundation Stick or you can pick up one of the dupes below.

Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick Dupes

Anything by Westman Atelier is expensive but as you can see from this review it is totally worth it. I’d rather spend more money on a product that performs and is vegan and clean than on 10 other products that don’t work!

However, the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick is expensive and MAY not work for everyone. This is why I found some dupes of this foundation stick and I think you’ll find them relatively easy to find.

Sephora Clean Glowing Skin Foundation – $26

Even though the Sephora Clean Glowing Skin Foundation isn’t in a stick form, the payoff of this product is very similar to the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick specifically if you are looking for a green and clean foundation. It’s a lightweight foundation that is considered clean beauty and works up to be medium coverage while providing a hint of glow. The reviews for the Sephora Clean Glowing Skin Foundation are 4/5 and the reviews say it is not greasy but definitely gives off a glow.

If you have oily skin and want a glowy foundation this is one of the best clean options at Sephora.

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick – $61

I know the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick is still expensive but it is still cheaper than the Westman Atelier Foundation Stick. Hourglass is known for this foundation stick and it is applied in a similar way as the Westman Atelier Foundation is applied. Hourglass isn’t considered “green” or “clean” at Sephora but it is vegan! If you’re looking for a vegan alternative to the Westman Atelier Stick Foundation this is the best option. You also do not need to use a lot of this foundation to get a similar healthy glow. The best way to apply it is to dot all over the face and blend out with a brush the same way I do with the Westman Atelier Foundation Stick.

Is the Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick Worth It?

Yes. Even though Westman Atelier is a very expensive makeup brand the products are vegan, clean and are made extremely well. The way the makeup melts into the skin providing a seamless medium glowing finish is unmatched by most of the other vegan products I’ve tried.
