If you’ve used the same makeup remover that your mom gave you when you were 12, then you’re like me. My mom gave me an amazing Lancome gentle makeup remover that was oily, but I seemingly liked. It is important that you purchase gentle makeup removers especially if you have sensitive skin.
Micellar Water
In 2017 and into 2018, the makeup remover game has changed dramatically with the introduction of: Micellar water. Micellar water is made up of tiny balls of cleansing product that expand in water. The formula is able to draw out dirt and oil all without causing harm to the skin. I started using Micellar water in 2017 and I have been hooked ever since.
One of my favourite products is by Garnier. The Gariner Micellar Cleansing water is amazing and I am shamelessly on my second bottle. Firstly, it lasts a long time and secondly, it doesn’t pull my eyelashes out when I am trying to take off some waterproof mascara. It’s a gentle makeup remover that it also pulls off my eyebrow makeup without drying.
Makeup Remover Wipes
Additionally, I’m a huge fan of an easy way to make the removal fast and quick. There is a huge market for makeup remover wipes that are handy travel companions. Sometimes at night when I’m just too tired to function, I’ll use one of the makeup remover wipes because even though they don’t do as good a job as the micellar water mentioned above, they do the trick. Also, some are good for after the gym or mid day when you need a refresh.

Gentle Makeup Remover and Cleansing Milks
It took me to the end of this post to finally talk about actual gentle makeup remover. Well, there are definitely a bunch to write home about. The gentle makeup removers that I love, including the one from Lancome. There are drugstore makeup removers that are quite good too and it is hard to figure out which one is best. There are also makeup remover milks that feel more like a cleanser and acts as an extremely gentle makeup remover.
