I had wanted the Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette for so long because I know the quality of Dior makeup products and thought this was the best glowing makeup palette to hit the market.
The Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette can be bought at a number of retailers including:
It retails for $55 CAD or $44 USD so although it is expensive, the fact that you can use these shades as a multi-purpose product makes it worth the price tag.
Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette Review
The Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette is an illuminating and bronzing face palette that can be used on the cheeks and eyes for a universal glow.
I picked mine up in the shade 001 Universal at Sephora for $55 CAD. I loved the pink blush that I saw other reviewers trying on and wanted to have a pink shade that had a healthy glow to it.
I also love the bronze shades because it matches so well with the pink blush shade.
The colours are very sparkly but since the sparkles are so finely milled they all melt together on the skin for a very ethereal, glowy and cohesive overall look.
In fact, I’ve never used a better face palette in my entire life!
Not only did I use every single colour in the palette but they all blended so well together.
I used the shade “golden” and “bronze” on my eyelids and blended them out to create the perfect glowy eye shadow.
Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette Swatches
You can see from the swatches of the Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette in Universal 001 that the powders appear shimmery but do not have big flecks of glitter in them.
In fact, the white highlighter shade actually looks like glistening snow on a sunny day but applies to the skin like absolute butter.
The light shade called “Golden” blends so well with all of the other shades as well it is the perfect universal champagne highlight.
The pink shade called “Rosy Blush” is a beautiful pink with hints of gold shimmer for a very chromatic effect on the cheek. It gives warmth and dimension on the face.
The darker bronze shade called “Bronze” matches so well with the Rosy Blush and is also the perfect bronzer shade.
Of course the formula of Dior powders are one of a kind so they are hard to dupe but I did find a glowy face palette that is similar.
However, if you buy one luxury makeup product make it the Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette because the colours are superb and everything blends so seamlessly into the skin.
This palette is actually worth the money because it is so beautiful but if you want to get a very similar glowy look I will give you some dupes.
Dupes of the Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette
It is really hard to dupe the Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette but there are some drugstore options that will get you somewhat close to the real thing. Again, if you are not sure if you should buy the Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette I recommend it before any of the drugstore dupes because it really is worth the money based on the quality of the product and value of all 4 shades blending well together.
Wet ‘N Wild Megaglo Blushlighter Palette
Where to buy:
This highlighting palette from Wet ‘n Wild is one of the best drugstore highlighters. The pay off is very glowy and is similar to the Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette because the highlight is very finely milled. The white shade in the Wet ‘N Wild duo is very similar to the white shade in the Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette. Similarly, the pink shade in the Wet ‘N Wild Megaglow Blushlighter ends up resembling the Dior Backstage Face Glow Palette Rosy Blush Colour.
If you are looking to jazz up your looks but don’t want to spend a ton of money on highlighter this is the best option.
Makeup Revolution x Soph x Highlighting Palette and Vintage Lace Highlighting Palette
Where to buy:
The Makeup Revolution highlighters are a very close dupe to the Dior Backstage Highlighting Palette. Either the Makeup Revolution x Soph x Highlighter Palette or the Vintage Lace Highlighter Palette will be very similar dupes of the Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette. These highlighting palettes also give you a variety of shades that all work well together and melt into the skin really well.
Either way for a drugstore option the highlighters from Makeup Revolution are the best you can get on the lower end scale.
