Since the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation came out this January 2022, social media has been obsessed with it. I got this foundation as soon as it came out because I love the quality and consistency of Charlotte Tilbury products.
My review of the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation is going to be mixed so keep reading for my honest feelings (good and bad!). I will even tell you which skin types should stay away from the Beautiful Skin Foundation because there is something you should really know…
What is the Beautiful Skin Foundation by Charlotte Tilbury?
The Beautiful Skin Foundation is a medium coverage hydrating foundation with a buildable glow. One of the main ingredients in the Beautiful Skin Foundation is Hyaluronic Acid to moisturize the skin throughout the day.
The foundation claims to have a plumping, more youthful effect with skin seemingly more even by 210%. Keep in mind this is a medium coverage glowy foundation – NOT a skin tint.
Here’s the tea: I don’t care about these percentages because I do not know the way in which these studies are conducted. One the website the studies say that it was only tested on 312 who wore it daily. I will say that with the ingredients in this new Beautiful Skin Foundation, you will more likely achieve glowing, hydrating and plumper skin.
What I do know is that Charlotte Tilbury makes really great products.
For this reason, I knew that trying the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation would live up to the claims on the website and packaging.
The Beautiful Skin Foundation is also longwearing claiming it can be worn for up to 16 hours at a time. I can say this is true, I wore the foundation for that long and it did not break apart on my skin.
The Beautiful Skin Foundation is also said to brighten the skin with the Charlotte Tilbury Rose Complex that is supposed to erase the signs of fatigue through stress.
The shade range is pretty good with 30 different shades ranging from 1 neutral to 17 neutral. There’s also a shade match finder which I didn’t find so helpful to find my perfect shade but here’s the link if you want to check it out.
Basically, if you’re looking for a glowy and hydrating foundation this one will live up to its hype but keep reading to find out my actual review of the Beautiful Skin Foundation by Charlotte Tilbury.
Beautiful Skin Foundation Review
Is the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation good?
Yes. The Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation is good. It gives a beautiful dewy glow as well as covers up any redness and hyperpigmentation. I also loved the way it applied and it stayed on for the entire day.
I really do think this a very beautiful and glowy foundation as you can tell from my photo.
Is the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation Good for Oily Skin?
The only downside to the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Foundation is that if you have oily skin the oil will shine through by the end of the day. I did a wear test and put it on TikTok that showed how the oil showed through and my whole forehead was oily. The Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation is best for normal or dry skin types if you don’t wear a powder or touch up during the day.
How To Apply The Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation
This is the question I wanted to answer for myself. I would figure out if it was a good foundation first and then see if it was better than some of my other holy grail foundations.
I picked up the foundation in the shade 2 Neutral since I am fair but have neutral and cool undertones.
The first squeeze out of the tube was pretty nice and the consistency wasn’t too runny which was good.
I applied it by using dots all over my face and used a foundation brush to blend everything together. You could also use a damp beauty blender to blend everything out on the skin but either way you’ll see the glow come through right away.
Is the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation Good for Mature Skin?
Yes! Absolutely. The Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation is great for mature skin. I am 37 and I do find that my skin has some fine lines and the Beautiful Skin Foundation did NOT sink into my pores at all. If you have mature skin and want to try something dewy with a glow this is one of the best glowing foundations for mature skin.
Final Review of the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation
I really love the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation and I would recommend it as a pretty good foundation for a luxury brand. However, I have combination skin and get oily in my T-Zone so for long term wear I would not rate this a good foundation for oily skin.
Is there a Dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation?
I have actually found a dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation already! I was at Shoppers Drug Mart and picked up the L’Oreal Skin Paradise Tinted Moisturizer. The application is pretty similar but the main difference is that the L’Oreal Skin Paradise doesn’t have as much of a shade range the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation.
The L’Oreal Skin Paradise Water-Infused Tinted Moisturizer is similar to the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation because they both focus on putting water back into the skin and are both water based. The same premise for the L’Oreal Skin Paradise is that it includes moisturizing ingredients including aloe vera and witch hazel.
In short, both are water based foundations that include other skin nourishing ingredients.
I did a wear test and wore one half of my face with the L’Oreal Skin Paradise and the other half with the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation for an entire day. Both looked exactly the same by the end of the day and wore the same way.
Since the L’Oreal Skin Paradise Tinted Moisturizer is not a true foundation, they only created 14 different shades. I had to mix two of them together because I couldn’t find my exact shade. I mixed light and fair together and those two worked to match the exact 2 Neutral shade in the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation.
The L’Oreal Skin Paradise Tinted Moisturizer is $16.99 USD ($27.99 CAD) vs. Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation which is $44 USD ($55 CAD). It is also important to know that the L’Oreal Skin Paradise Water-Infused Tinted Moisturizer has been reformulated. It used to include an SPF but that is not the case so there are two versions out there. The newly reformulated version does not include SPF if that helps make your decision about if it’s worth it to purchase.
How Do I Apply the L’Oreal Skin Paradise Water-Infused Tinted Moisturizer?
I apply the L’Oreal Skin Paradise Water-Infused Tinted Moisturizer but dotting it all over my face and blending out with my fingers. You do not need a makeup or foundation brush or sponge to blend this out if you don’t want to your fingers are just as good!
Where Can I Buy the L’Oreal Skin Paradise Water-Infused Tinted Moisturizer?
You can buy the L’Oreal Skin Paradise Water-Infused Tinted Moisturizer at the following retailers:
Which is better: L’Oreal Skin Paradise Tinted Moisturizer or Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Foundation?
If you want more of a fuller coverage foundation you should try the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation but if you’re looking for more of a natural tint then you can absolutely go for the L’Oreal Skin Paradise Tinted Moisturizer.
