With so many brands coming out with new formulas that claim skincare perfection, it is important to know what works best for your skin.  There are so many factors to consider:

  • Skin Type: Oily, Normal + Combination
  • Essential elements such as SPF
  • Different types of weight
  • Scent

All of these elements need to be considered before you purchase the moisturizer that best works for your skin.  Also, sometimes you’ll find that you will use multiple types of moisturizers throughout the year depending on seasonality or even daytime vs. nighttime.

I have 4 moisturizers that I use interchangeably so let’s take a look at what they are and why I think they are the best moisturizers right now:

Ole Henrikson Sheer Perfecting Moisturizer

  1. Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer by Ole Henrikson (TOP PICK!)

You’ll see from a previous post that I love this moisturizer (read my Ole Henrikson Product Review post here).  The Ole Henrikson Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer is the holy grail for ensuring my makeup goes on evenly.  This product is good for ALL skin types and smooths dull and uneven skin tone. It’s weightless (hence the name “sheer”) and goes on fully transparent. Buy the Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer here along with other moisturizers by Ole Henrikson.

   2. Hydraphase UV Intense 24HR ReHydrating Fill-in Care SPF 15 Lotion by La Roche Posay

The La Roche Posay Hydraphse UV Intense lotion has a 15 SPF (you can also purchase it in the 30 SPF version here).  I love this moisturizer for the summertime because the SPF helps with the sun’s damaging rays.  Also, as a moisturizer with SPF, it does not weigh your skin down.  It’s light and goes on evenly.  My one complaint with this moisturizer is the smell.  It has a bit of a woodsy scent and isn’t as yummy as some of the other moisturizers.  However, finding a light weight moisturizer with SPF is hard so I recommend this one.  You can get the La Roche Posay Hydraphase UV Intense Moisturizer here.

3. Ginzing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer by Origins

Ginzing Origins Moisturizer Review

The Origins Ginzing Moisturizer smells divine! It’s very invigorating and provides a burst of energy when you apply it.  This product has more of a gel like consistency and cooling sensation.  It is lightweight enough for people with Oily and Acne prone skin because it doesn’t weight down into pores.  I use this moisturizer when I need a boost of energy!

4. Renewed Hope in a Jar by Philosphy

Renewed Hope in a Jar is one of my favourite night time moisturizers.  It is a bit thicker and without any SPF properties, I love putting this guy on before bed and let the product absorb into pores. It’s really creamy but doesn’t cake or flake! The Philsophy line is really simple and geared toward finding the perfect combination for your skin tone.  You can shop the Renewed Hope in a Jar and shop the rest of the Philosphy products here. That’s it for Skincare Week Day 1!  Do you agree that these are some of the best moisturizers? Let me know what your best moisturizers are!
